When warm air blows across an evaporator coil in the air conditioning unit, the heat energy in the air is transferred to the refrigerant inside the coil. A blower pushes the refreshing, cooler air throughout your home while the heat collected by the condenser stays outside your home.
Central air conditioners circulate cool air through supply and return ducts. Supply ducts and registers (i.e., openings in the walls, floors, or ceilings covered by grills) carry cooled air from the air conditioner to the home. This cooled air becomes warmer as it circulates through the house, then flows back to the central air conditioner through return ducts and registers. Split system units must be matched with a Heil® indoor coil or fan coil. Before replacing any unit, written authorization is required from the local Heil® distributor technical service contact to validate that the team was installed correctly and that the component did not fail due to abuse.
